Dr. Alireza Akbarzadeh received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in USA in 1997. He worked at Motorola, USA, for 15 years where he led R&D as well as automation teams. He joined the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 2005 and is currently a full professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department. He has over 75 journal publications and over 70 conference papers. His areas of research include robotics (parallel robots, biologically inspired robots, bipedal robots, and rehabilitation robotics), dynamics, kinematics, control, automation, optimization as well as design and analysis of experiments. He is also a founding member of the Center of Excellence on Soft Computing and Intelligent Information Processing (SCIIP).
