Assistant Manager
- Assistant Professor of Orthopedics Surgery
- Postdoc of Bone and Tissue Engineering
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Tissue Engineering
Dr. Nafiseh Jirofti, PhD Assistant Professor of Tissue engineering Bone and Joint Laboratory Manager Dr. Nafiseh Jirofti is an Assistant Professor of Tissue Engineering and the Manager of the Bone and Joint Research Laboratory (BRJL). She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Tissue Engineering from the University of Sistan and Baluchestan in 2018. Following her Ph.D, she spent fouryears as a postdoctoral researcher at the Biotechnology Research Center and the Orthopedic Research Center at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS).
Dr. Jirofti's primary research interests includethe synthesis, development, and improvement of hybrid biopolymer scaffolds for therapeutic and diagnostic applications in tissue engineering and biomedicine. She has also focused on preparing drug-loaded polymer solutions as a bioink for fabricating nanostructures via freeze-drying and bioprinting forbone tissue engineering and wound healing. Her expertise encompasses cell culture, bone marrow stemcell extraction, and the synthesis and nanofabrication of polymer scaffolds for tissue engineering. Additionally, she has worked on the sol-gel synthesis of antibacterial bioceramics, external fixator coatings, and other orthopedic research fields during hertime at the Orthopedic Research Center. In addition, hisresearch team is also actively engaged in conducting secondary studies on orthopedic issues, making significant contributions in this field.
Dr. Jirofti has advised and guided graduate students in various areas of tissue engineering and managed the Fuel Cell and Microbial Research Laboratory at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan in Zahedan, Iran, for five years. She currently manages the Bone and Joint ResearchLab atQaem Educational, Research, and Therapeutic Centerof MUMS, overseeing more than twenty researchers in orthopedics, bone tissue engineering, and biomaterials fields. As amember of Iran's National Foundation of Elites, Dr. Jirofti serves as a reviewer for international journals in drug delivery and tissue engineering. She has supervised more than thirty proposals and published over 40 journal articlesand conference papers.
